Matt Kenkel, CPA – CFO / Private Equity Experience / Business Transformation

A finance “game changer” with 25 years of leadership experience and a consistent track record of driving maximum levels of productivity, revenues and EBITDA, mainly in the Services Sector. Mr. Kenkel led two PE backed companies through significant growth, OPEX savings and successful exits. Matt understands the importance of building relationships across the organization and with stakeholders. Recognized as a finance change agent, Matt has implemented solutions that deliver a high return on investment. In 2017, Mr. Kenkel executed a successful exit for a car dealership holding company ($190M in revenues).

His major skill sets include team building, restructuring/cost containment, operations/HR/Employee Benefits, executing high growth, investor relations, Treasury, risk management, M&A/acquisition integration, fund raising and successful exits.

Mr. Kenkel has executed and closed on ~15 acquisitions in four different industries. Mr. Kenkel has served as the CFO and COO of various service and retail companies, some large, mature companies while some being newer and entrepreneurial. In one situation, he increased EBITDA by 16% during recession (2008-10) for a PEG owned medical services company. Matt also served as CFO/COO of an insolvent real estate company where he restructured failing company and then grew revenues by $43M over a fourteen year period (before successful exit). Mr. Kenkel started his career with PwC and spent 3+ years there. He has an MBA from the University of Michigan and a BS from UNC Chapel Hill. Matt has been a CPA for 25 years.
